Hello
I have a box to dual boot Win2k and RedHat9. The PC has two HDDs
Win2k installed in the master HDD (hda) and LINUX in the slave
disk (hdb1). The system boots with GRUB.
I 'm currentlyRunning RHL9. I just installed Jakarta-Tomcat 4.1.31 and attempted to
do the initial 'stand-alone ' testing and found that something is using
port 8080. I found the it is being used by http-proxyThat 's the question.

that I do not have an /sbin/adjtimex only /sbin/hwclock. My clock seems to
drift a lot at times and then at other timesMy RH9 system now says that the root account has expired. Maybe it was
because I used "date " to reset system time. Maybe it was because I
changed the root shell from bash to tcsh. Anyway now IAfter having to scramble with some new problems after installing SP2 on XP Pro I
think I 'm a little closer to getting to my original goal of sending a time synch from

astro and the other named printer. The Print Manager showed an exclamation on the

it.
I did chmod +s /usr/bin/vwdial (as somewhere suggested) and thought that
would be it. But then I encounDear Joshua
Samba does not resolve names. It allows the Linux box to share its file system and printer with Windows boxes.
The question was "How are the Windows boxes getting name information I have just configured SAMBA (it was next on my list) and it is not
resolving the names for me.

Router has no hostname or domainname. Router set to gateway (can not
change).
WXP and W98 can ping by IP and hostname.
