I am having problems under RH 9.0 with the PS1 prompt preventing KDE or
Gnome loading. This problem did not occur in RH7.3.
In my .bashrc file I set the PS1 prompt using a line

I came across the problem with glut after upgrading from 8.0 to 9. The

I 've done a clean install of RedHat 9 after having tons of problems updating
from 8.0.
Now things are quite smoother but I still got some minor problems.
1) I run gnome and usually set Hi all
I just subscribed a couple of days ago. I 'm sort of new to Linux. I did
use it back in 1992 (SLS I think) but a lot has changed since then (and
I 've forgotten most of what I learned). RH 9 lI 'm using kde which I built myself (kde-3.1.1a) and it seems to work fine.
But I just noticed that non-kde apps are totally screwed. Specifically
various gnome apps are using a font that is totasorry of the error
