In my notebook loaded with RH9 yesterday the 3Com 3c501 nic is seen
but not recognized (hardware identified but networking refuses to use
it).
Solutions I 'm just starting my research on this and thought I 'd ask for tips at the
beginning. Sorry if I overlooked some obvious source of info.

I 've seen some messages around the net about how this wireless nic is
not supported in Linux. I 've also seen where some people claim they 've
got them to work but their links to the How-tos they used I 'm building db-4.1.25 (downloaded from Sleepycat Software) into rpm 's
by borrowing the SPEC file from the Red Hat-packaged db4-4.0.14-20 and
modifying that. That 's the Red Hat 9 version. Then will inI saw mplayer listed. Who has the best rpms for shrike ?
has anyone made the jump up to gnome 2.2.2? any gotchas?

I have used a PDA for several years. I found it very usefull for me.
Disadvanteges can be eliminated by choosing good PDA that suits you.

low resolution options in install so I tried the desktop Radeon 9000
and that allowed me to set 1400x1050.
Now I cannot see eithRedhat 9 has identified my notebook video card as a Raedon Mobility 9
it is more precisely a Raedon Mobility 9000.
Should I go with the Mobility 9 or the desktop version Raedon 9000?

I know i845 chipset with hardware 3D is working out of the box. How good
is that 3D support? ( e.g. same as nvidia tnt2 ) Does quake or unreal
tournament run on it?
Also another hardware questioI 've run the Bastille-2.1.1 hardening script on a Red Hat 9 system and now
any time the firewall causes a packet to be dropped the drop message is
being displayed on the console. This makes it difficI understand that one must have sendmail running in daemon mode for mail
delivery to work correctly in RH9. However on the firewall system that I 'm
building there is an SMTP proxy that binds to portGot a brand new camera.
Any suggestion how to work in Red Hat 9???
