Any hints/I have a Adaptec Quartec Ehternet card. It is a 4 port tulip based 10/100Mb
PCI ehternet card. I have only port 1 connected. It is installed on a i810
based Motherboard.
When ever I transfer data I wanted to add mplayer to my RH 9 system (maybe the RH 8 too).
I would just as soon use precompiled binaries. The rpm -i of
mplayer...rpm produces a list of missing files. Tracking down

rpm -bb is supposed to make the build happen but RH9 is telling me that
-bb is an unknown com according to joe pranevich 's article on the 2.6 kernel the new
IDE driver in 2.6 allows one to write CD/RWs without using the
historical SCSI emulation. has anyone tried that? and how does
one usIs the sendmail-8.12.8-5.90 for RH9 compiled to have Milter support?

Is there anything special one needs to configure when connecting a
wireless laptop to an Apple Airport Extreme? The Airport works fine
with Ethernet on eth1 (connected to my docking station) plus wiI 've copied the three redhat 9 cds to a server and shared it and mounted it.
redhat-config-packages --tree /mnt/shrike does not seem to work. Has
anyone been able to run that command?

I have been playing with maintenance scripts and would like a hand with
making a nightly one.
Basically I would like a report of the hard drives free space a report
of a nightly virus scan have it My system is suddenly hanging at the login screen. I 've
been running
RHL9 with the latest RH changes and booting to level 5.
There is no
response to the mouse or keyboard and only a hard boot
restartIs it just me? If I run the 2.6 kernel from Arjan 's directory and lock
my screen then try to type my password to unlock it it rejects my
password. If I reboot into 2.4.20-18.9 this works fine.

j2sdk-1_4_1_03-linux-i586.bin and then chmod 777 and
then ran ./j2......bin
finally it extracted j2sdk1.4.1_03 in my /usr/local
diFYI on upgrading 2.4 LVM system to 2.6.

noticed USB modules and nvidia drivers fail during boot process but
system was usable after i got the mouse worI little known fact is the "official " way to get a kernel module to load
at boot time on Red Hat Linux. The "official " way is not the rc.local
file.
The "official " way is to create an executable scriI set up my linux box as NAT. Everything is working fine with 2.4 kernel.
With 2.6.0-test1 FTP connection gets stuck whenever I try dir command. I
see in sniffer a lot of TCP acknowleges going in bot |
