Thanks for all your input. Summing everything up the conclusion seems
to be that when you have no original ISO but only the *CDROM* made
out of them God knows how there are only two I 've got the Shrike .iso files on a Windows hard disk so I
can write them to my CD but there seems to be no way to
convert them to the install formats when making the CDs.
I 'm using BHA Gold software For those still using the Intel Netport print servers the upgrade to RH
9 from 8.0 clobbered my printing setup by resetting the printer port
settings to the default. It took more time than I wantedHi list
I 've just installed RH9 on a new box an E-machines T2200. The
installation and post installation detection of the motherboard
soundcard indicates I have a VT8233 AC97 Audio Controller whiJust upgraded a RedHat 8.0 box to 9.0. The download and ISO install went
smoothly and the new version looks good at first glance.
The audio that was working under 8.0 is gone under 9.0. Hardware brow it 's disappointing to see that rpm still has a talent
for hanging in the middle of an install necessitating
a deletion of some files in /var/lib/rpm.

a friend of mine with fast ADSL promised he 'll download and burn for
me the three shrike CDs monday. He 's a windows only user though so
he hasn 't the faintest idea nor the software to checI have tried to install RH9 several times. This machine has been running
RH8.0 just fine. I tried to install RH9 as a fresh install and have it
check for bad blocks on each file system. It is a DelWell I finally got around to re-installing my Phoebe machine to Shrike.
What 's up with the "Server " install getting all but 2 packages from the
first CD then needing one package from each of the otDear all
I just upgraded my system from rh8 to rh9. Now I can not set my locale
well. On redhat 8 my system can support Chinese however all the menu
and messages are English. Now I want to keep thI have installed RH9 over RH8 that had Mozilla 1.3xft installed.
In Mozilla the change theme from classical to modern results in no change. I
have not had a chance to test this on another RH 8 w/MoziHmmm ... so RH9 doesn 't include gnuserv/gnuclient with emacs (this is my
first RH install having been a Mandrake user for several years). Does
anyone know where it can be obtained preferably in a RH9I 'm prelinking my system to try out this wonderful new toy but while
it 's running I noticed that the prelink program seems not to reap the
exit status of ld-linux.so.2 when it gives the error "DepI 'm having a curious problem with my HP OfficeJet K80 (USB). Kudzu
recognises it when I start the machine with it plugged in. Red Hat 's
printer configuration tool (system-settings ///Printing) correctIs there still no way to set the window stacking order (on top on
bottom etc.)? I really miss that feature.

after following the thread on plugins i decided to install Real One I
had to stop arts (Im a KDE man) to get it to work no issues with kernel
threading. when i stopped arts i got a whole bunch or soI can 't get spell check to work in evolution in the settings I enabled
the english dictionary and checked the 'check spelling while I type ' box
but when I spell check my e-mail it always says there aIt appears at first glance you can 't edit the menu 's in Shrike didn 't a
menu editor make it into the release either?
When I was in Raleigh for my RH401 class I was told by an un named RH
employee (spI have installed RHL 9 on my system and need to purchase a sound card as I
cannot get my on-board sound functioning. I was looking at the Audigy MP3+
