I am a new user to the list and also I am blind. I am just getting into
linux and have Redhat the latest I think. I for the moment am going to
put it onto an IBM Aptiva computer which has wiSituation
UnixWare 7.1.3 system running as a host exporting a /usr3 folder for a few
other systems to mount and use. This directory currently holds hundreds of
thousands of small data files. THAT pI am trying to install Oracle 8.1 on Linux Red Hat 7.3 on a Pentium III 667
MHz 128Mb RAM but appear 'DISPLAY not set ' .

Redhat recently announced a security advisory recommending that 7.3 users
upgrade to 2.4.20-13.7. To support our customer sites I need to compile
my device driver against this new kernel. TypI am trying to install 7.3 on a 486DX w/ 32Mb RAM using floppy and CD.
The floppy boots successfully but the loader dies on "signal 11 " and
system halts.

I have a linux redhat 7.3 when I finished the intalation I tried to
install my ethernet card (D-link 530tx) so I maked as root insmod
via-rhine.o but I got this answer from the proBeen with Redhat since 4.2. I still have the boxed set.
It 's been fun but it 's off to debian. I don 't see the need to upgrade
when the company tells me to.
