I am having trouble interpreting the output of the
sar command with the -d flag. The DEV column major/
minor node numbers do not seem to logically correlate
to the device node files majorAfter updating my system I received the following error

Please append a correct "root " host option

You have to setup the kernel with these options.
1) Root file system on NFS (Turn on 'Kernel level autoconfiguration '
to get this option to show up)
2) Turn on BI 've just received a "Welcome to Red Hat Advisor " email. It

I was under the impression (including based on a reply I think I
got on this list) that

where I am correctly giving the lv logical path ...

I want to upgrade me RHEL3 system to RHEL4 but have the following to address
before I can do it.
I installed a 'ITE RAIDExpress ' card (ITE8212 Dual channel ATA RAID controller
(PCI Will RHEL3 automatically detect multiple LUNS on a scsi device or do I
need to tweak something?

I am trying to configure an array of 12 disks in a RAID 10
configuration. All 12 disks are identical 146Gb drives.
First off on each disk I created a single partition which spanned the
whA co-worker swapped SCSI RAID controllers on our system running RHEL 3.0
and lost the partition table of our boot disk. He was able to recover
it (apparently) using gpart but the system will not boHello
How are load averages computed for the top command and the /proc/loadavg
file? Where do the numbers come from?
