I have used installed a centos 4 distribution in my PC for a few months which was quite good. However the system failed to start last week and shown the following message on startup

Now I found one package using this command

I want to uninstall mysql 4.0 from linux redhat 3.
I tried rpm -e <package name > but it did not work.
If I already installed mysql using make command how can I
uninstall.
TIn order to get logging from my cgi I proceeded as shown
