(locked up can 't ping can 't SSH) when I logged out from X. So after reboot

Currently I am running a OpenNMS application on RHEL 2.1 due to some performance issue OpenNMS developers suggested me to go for RHEL 3.0 with latest (supported) kernel.
I have followinI have been looking at /proc/meminfo and /proc/slabinfo trying to figure
out what is meaning to a swapping problem that we are experiencing. It
seems like we have tons of cache memory but when new Will Taroon ever be made Kernel 2.6 ready or will it be kernel 2.4 for
the next five years?
