will In the end I installed a parallel installation of RH3 which used LVM.
I then used /boot from this and it worked. I guess the reason I did this
was because I did not fully understand LVM dependencies

I 'm hitting a weird bug in trying to set up an XDMCP server under RedHat
EL 3. The server shows up in the Exceed list but when Exceed gives me a
black screen when I click on it.
I also get a Hi there
I installed a RHEL 3 box a while ago (I 'm guessing more than a year). As
part of the installed I 'm pretty damned sure I subscribed the box to the Red
Hat Application Server channel and uI am trying to use up2date to upgrade ( a test system with a proper
license for RHEL ES) from RHEL 3 to RHEL 4.
When I run
up2date --upgrade-to-release rhel-i386-es-4
I get this reply

I 've got a webserver box and I noticed the following on the console the other day. The box has 512MB of ram and about a 1gb of swap. Nothing has misbehaved to my knowledge so the messages are oddI have sucessfully managed to register my system with RHN but the entitlement is showing as "Update " instead of
"Management ".
Why is it showing as "Update "?
