Case in point. I decided what the heck, 7.10 isn't running the games I
want to run, let's bump up to 8.04! Put Hardy into apt's sources. aptitude
update. aptitude dist-upgrade. About an hour and a half later I go to reboot.
Pick 2.6.24 out o the list. Nope, kernel panic, can't load my partitions.
Ooook, fall back to 2.6.22 which is what 7.10 had. The oh-so-unhelpful
whirling bard of death. For 5 minutes.
7.10 to 8.04, machine unbootable, no clue as to why. Verdict. Horrible
upgrade. I'm going to have to reinstall just to get my game machine up and
running again.
