i cannot get the standord install disk to recognise the SATA drive is there a patch for this so i can fix the problem the issue arrisies in install stage 4 /7 this means that it cant or wont recognise my disk so cant prepair a partition...

Have you tried the alternate cd?

what machine do you have?

...meaning specs...Dell Optiplex GX520, Mainboard Intel D945GCCR, nForce chipset, etc.
