The problem with Wallpaper and desktop icons persists - see my note in
v46 Issue 126.  I have run two updates since my earlier comment with
similar results.  After the last major upgrade the system had to be
restarted four times before the display restored itself; restart was
needed only (!) twice today after yesterdays minor modifications.

I am using V8.04.  This difficulty did not arise with earlier versions.
