Hmm, sure I meant that - but why didn't I write it?

OK, I see a similar result here - it seems as if it can't get all the
files it expects to find. But it should have loaded the rest. There
should be a file in /var/cache/apt/apt-file/ now. Mine has a size of
14MB.

apt-file is a tool to search for filenames in all packages available, not
only installed packages. It will show the package name and complete
filename including path. Use "man apt-file" for more info.
