Hi,

Im running Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 with windows XP dual boot. After login, I get an error saying:

Nautilus can't be used now due to an unexpected error from Bonobo when attempting to register the file manager view server.

Then the panel throws up a fatal error:

The panel encountered a fatal error: Could not register with the bonobo-activation server (error code:3) and will exit. It may be automatically restarted.

I tried to reinstall libbonobo2, but it doesnt change things.

I recently edited my /etc/profile.d file as I wanted to change some environment variables in the shell. Has it got anything to do with it?

Im currently running the live cd as Im quite a noob when it comes to the shell. I really in a fix right now since my Xp is also corrupted.

I wonder if anyone can help me out.

Thanks,
Sandip
