Well, I guess I was able to get  most of the questions answered myself... after a bit of research...

Just used the Partition Manager to remove and create the file systems, removed unneeded stuff from the drive and copied my home directory to it and all is OK.

The only thing I want to happen now is to have Nautilus leave it alone when I plug it in,  still researching that item.

I am still learning folks, but I am finding there is a great deal of information out there, I just need to take more time to research things before posting.
