is there a way to have the root filesystem on iscsi?

i am thinking there might be a way to setup a small local
partition for /boot and boot the kernel from it
and then somehow mount the an iscsi partition as the root partition.

if anyone knows how to set this up please tell me.

TIA,
tomoki
