Hi,
I am using a AMD64 / Kubuntu 8.04 computer. I tried to connect it to a Samsung clx-2160 laser printer/scanner. Printer work without any problems. Scanner is a totally different story. Sane and Kooka did not see any scanner. When I tried to install the drivers that is given in the web page of Samsung this tien I cannot run both softwares. With Sane I get a small window telling that it is looking for a scanner for few seconds and then disappears. with Kooka I get:

When I ask sane to search for a scanner I get:
oyo@oyo-kubuntu:~$ sane-find-scanner
# sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the
# result is different from what you expected, first make sure your
# scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer.
# No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that
# you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter.
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04e8, product=0x3425) at libusb:004:002
# Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by
# SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage.
# Not checking for parallel port scanners.
# Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports
# can't be detected by this program.
# You may want to run this program as root to find all devices. Once you
# found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access permissions as
# necessary.
What am I suppose to do to correct these errors and be able to scan?
Many thanks
