upgrading from version 4 to 5.1 we had a nightmare related to this
increbible problems.

Incredible because you can see via the nfsstat command that the new and
*currently distributed* kernels flood the filer with a great amount of
lookup calls.
This not only slowed down the new web servers, but actually made a "DOS
attack" on the Netapp, so i think it's incredible Red Hat continues
distrubuting these kernels as official ones.

You must downgrade the kernel to the versions released before the bug or
get a new one from http://people.redhat.com/dzickus/el5/
