We've had the problem that nscd will corrupt its cache and crash. We've
added a cron.hourly script that will autorestart nscd if it has failed.
We've seen this since RH4 and I keep hoping that I'll be able to
remove the script, but it keeps finding dead nscd (though it isn't
easily reproducible).
