I am trying to compile snort, stuck at dependency of libpcap
libpcap installation from source i am getting error

I already found libpcap installed.

Tried to install devel package:

rebuild the rpm database:

again same error of
 libpcap.so.0.9.4 is needed by libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386

did force installation with nodeps but snort from source as well as
rpm package is failing, nodeps snort installation gives error.

libpcap-0.9.4-8.1.i386.rpm
libpcap-devel-0.9.4-8.1.i386.rpm
versions are same.

how to fix this libpcap problem or is this a bug?
