The main issue with these "support statements" is usually the kernel and
the drivers. If a vendor hasn't tested it (yet), they may say that they
won't support it (yet).

And things *do* change in kernel/drivers across point releases, so those
statements are not completely unrealistic. However, 5.1 has been out for
a while and vendors should do their work and start supporting it a.s.a.p.
of course.
