I am slanting towards removal of the meta-package as that would prevent re-installation of any removed dependencies if there were an update to the meta package.

Subject: [rhelv5-list] Removal of redhat-lsb package

Hi

In order to remove cups from production servers I have to either use rpm -e --nodeps or I have to remove redhat-lsb meta package.

Does anyone have a preference for either method or don’t you remove cups. I don’t believe a db or webserver has any need for cups. The LSB standard might be a bit to generic…

Regards
