Ah, hadn't actually looked at it myself, just remembered the earlier posting.

Best way to learn is by finding one already out in the wild and modifying it
to your own kernel module. I believe there's an iwl3945 kmod that Red Hat put
together for RHEL5.1, and there are some 3rd-party Fedora repositories in the
wild that have kmod packages you could look at. Not sure offhand how to get
at the iwl3945 one from the "outside world"...
