Perhaps you need ro read my response more closely; _I_ don't know what's
in your head nor precisely what you mean by "I want to run remote X,"
and you did not mention ssh.

I did suggest some tools you might find useful in circumstances I
thought might arise.

You don't have to accept those suggestions, but there is absolutely no
call for your rudeness.

Finding the configuration tools without a menu is more than I wish to
contemplate. I use vnc and I use ssh, both, and both extensively. Both
have their place, and neither is a complete tool.

Even if you don't _need_ vnc-server, it should get all you will need for
GUI applications, and I'd be less willing to suppose they have all the
fonts packages and such specified as dependencies.

You could, of course, remove vnc-server after the install.
