Hello,
The configuration of guests is stored in /etc/xen by default. You need to configure bridging for your network setup to work (there are example guest configurations in that directory too, just look at them).
What kind of guest did you try to install and failed? I have not had any problems with using the Xen version in RHEL 5.1 so far.

Subject: [rhelv5-list] xen - where is my config and how to configure thenetworksettings

Hi,

recently I started to try xen on a RHEL5.1 server with simply setting up one virtual system using the virtual manager.

O.K. as this is all a test, I started with the xen-version from RHEL 5.1; as this failed to install a host, I compiled and installed the
xen-3.1.2 from fedora.

By default the dom-u host is configured by dhcp, which works fine. Now I'd like this host to have an IP form the same lan the server is connected to.

I modified the hosts ifcfg-eth0-file and restarted the hosts network and he hast the IP I want, but he can't connect to my network.

So I was searching where or what I may have missed to configure and by that I was wondering where the config file is saved.

The host is named an created as degas_xen, but there is no file apart from the diskimage:

[root@(protected)

[root@(protected) ~]#

Thanks for any hint and help

Best Regards
