well, there are enough reports upstream describing similar problems; one of
them with very close stack is http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=158526

I tried creating clean user account and cannot reproduce either hanging
session on startup or plasma crash. That does not help much, unfortunately,
as I am rather reluctant to remove my home directory :) It also may be an
issue on update for existing users.
