Doing a fresh install today, I got to display configuration and got the
following error:

An error occurred
output on file /mnt/etc/X11/xorg.conf failed: read-only filesystem

However, doing a "mount" from BusyBox shows that /mnt is mounted as rw.

I forged on, and when I tried to leave summary, I got a prompt saying:

You have not configured X.
Are you sure you really want this ?
* Yes
* No

If I choose Yes, it drops back into drakconnect and fails again as
before. If I choose No, it puts me back at Summary. Hobson's choice !

Work-in-progress of some kind, or should I enter bug reports ?
