Hey all,

I'm still using 2.6.24-4 on my laptop. But since recent updates I have
been unable to get X running again.
Whatever I try I get the message

Fatal server error:
could not open default font 'fixed'

I'm guessing this is due to the removal of /etc/X11 but I was told that
this was alright.
I tried reinstalling just about all x11- packages still to no avail.
Tried with vesa, radeon and fglrx driver. And for some reason I also had
some lockups while trying with fglrx.
So just trying with vesa now.
Tried doing fc-cache -fv. Even found out I did not have xfs installed so
installed it hoping that would do it.
But that didn't do the trick either.

Hopefully one of you can point me in the right direction.

Kind regards,
