Thanks Col, I am using the 2.6.24 kernel. I can't use the later kernels
because of wireless mouse failures with the 25 kernel, and nvidia dkms
compile issues with the 26 kernel. I was able to copy the 4 files off
the flash disk by copying each file individually. In order to check
where the issue might be when the light was continually flashing I
returned the system to kdm, and the light was still flashing. I then
told kdm to reboot, and the light was still flashing all the way through
the shutdown process right to the final unmount process, where it had 3
attempts to unmount the flashdisk without success whereupon it shutdown
over the top of the flashdisk.
When you say to include the usb modules, do you mean the hardware driver
for the usb port or do you mean to try to determine the driver the
system decided to use when it automounted the flashdisk?
regards,
Steve
