I can share my experience under 2008.1: I get no less than three
password prompts on booting up. The first one is before gnome-session
starts, and AFAIK originates from keychain that I've installed myself.
It asks for my id_dsa passphrase. The second one is when gajim tries to
open the passwords in gnome-keyring, which uses id_rsa. The third one
was introduced recently (PolicyKit, iirc? It claims to be launched by my
home folder...) and asks for my id_dsa passphrase again.

At least I don't ever have to type passwords when ssh'ing.
