Hi, guys. Just wanted to propose including a couple of mobile
device-related packages in the default install in 2009:

barry-charge
synce-hal

the first one basically is needed so that when you plug in a Blackberry,
it charges. Blackberries, for some asinine reason, require a
(non-standard) power draw of 550mA; if they see a (standard) power draw
of 500mA, they just don't charge. barry-charge includes a small binary
which sets the USB ports to output 550mA of power, and a udev rule which
just runs the binary when a Blackberry is plugged in. It's very small
and won't lead to any extra resource usage unless you actually plug in a
Blackberry.

synce-hal is the new code base for SynCE, the framework for
synchronizing Windows Mobile devices. The good thing is the new design
uses HAL to ensure that nothing needs to be run permanently, as a daemon
- nothing is actually run until you plug in a compatible device. This
makes it suitable for inclusion by default. You'd still need to install
a front end of some kind manually to actually be able to do anything
with the device, but I'm not sure if we should install any of those by
default, that's a less obvious decision.

thoughts? Thanks!
