Well, I have tested the last fglrx but with cooker 2009.0; and as usual,
I am THE guy for which it is screwed up...
graphic card:
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc R580 [Radeon
X1900 XT] (Primary)
kernel:Linux2.6.24.7-tmb-desktop-1mdv #1 SMP Sun May 11 19:12:01 EDT
2008 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz GNU/Linux
The Good: the x86_64 applications run fine with openGL
[chris@(protected)
name of display: :0.0
display: :0 screen: 0
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.2
server glx extensions: blabla....
The Bad: all of my REALLY IMPORTANT 32 bits openGL applications claim
that I am running MESA GL.
For instance:
>quake3
...
Using XFree86-VidModeExtension Version 2.2
XF86DGA Mouse (Version 2.0) initialized
XFree86-VidModeExtension Activated at 1600x1200
Using 8/8/8 Color bits, 24 depth, 0 stencil display.
GL_RENDERER: Mesa GLX Indirect
***********************************************************
You are using software Mesa (no hardware acceleration)!
Driver DLL used: libGL.so.1
If this is intentional, add
"+set r_allowSoftwareGL 1"
to the command line when starting the game.

Received signal 11, exiting...
and the same for quake4, doom3 etc...
Cheers,
Chris.
