If someone gives you a good and easy to follow and implement answer let
me know.

In the meantime if you just want to get it to build drop
%configure/%configure2_5x.

As you build it from svn it can be built directly from autogen.sh
I used

./autogen.sh \
 --prefix=%{_prefix} \
 --libdir=%{_libdir} \
 --sysconfdir=%{_sysconfdir} \
 --build=%{_arch}-mandriva-linux-gnu \
 --disable-schemas-install --disable-caches

It may not be "the right way" but it does build successfully.
