No in the "Select Windows Manager" section of FusionIcon you can
select the Windows Manager.
The choices are Compiz, KWin, IceWM and Metacity, if you select KWin
you get the KDE4 effects.
Using XRender instead of OpenGL is not a good solution because you
lost the most part of the wonderful effects of KDE4 more professional
and useful than Compiz.
