Thierry, can you please revert the vesa driver? For the moment, probably
just rename the older tarball to the new name is enough.

Other option could be to copy xserver's git hw/xfree86/modes/xf86gtf.c
and add it to the vesa driver compilation, or patch it to set
pVesa->strict_validation to FALSE and hope for the best :-), as it would
either resolve the missing symbol, or never attempt to call it..

I opened a bug report in freedesktop as I said in a previous email, but
I don't think it will be fixed in upstream very soon, and I may need some
time for testing to come up with a good patch.
