I have modified fstab and menu.lst to boot off this kernel. When I boot,
right after determining what partitions exist on the hard disks, and the
initscripts have decided to treat the ide disks as scsi devices, a trace
is produced that ends in the message "Bad EID value". Given that when I
boot back off the old kernel and check boot.log it is empty, where do I
find the boot messages so that I can file a bug report.
