I think the first issue here is that drakauth (AFAIK not touched in last ~3
years) needs to be re-worked functionally, then the UI changes can come.
There are some enhancement bugs filed on drakauth for the following (IIRC):
-Unix Kerberos+LDAP setup (like SFU without nss_ldap attribute mapping)
-Offline support (nss_updatedb+nss_db/pam_ccreds for Kerberos/LDAP/NIS,
winbind caching for Winbind)
-Biometrics support
In theory it is possible to combine these options, mean neither a drop-down
box nor a radio button set are viable .... and there may be more aspects to
consider.
If tooltips are possible on the existing radio buttons, the text in the
current text box should be moved there. Else, the desired functionality
should be spec'ed before UI changes are proposed.
(Also, drakauth should be able to some detection ... but that could be a bit
trick ... and there are still some kerberos-related issues to fix in the
winbind option).
