Hi all,

There are assumptions that Java is in some uncertain state in cooker, while
the truth is the opposite - next Mandriva version will be the first that
contains a JVM that has passed the TCK in the main repo.
The truth is that:
1. java-1.6.0-openjdk package is based on the icedtea project and is named so
to match the Fedora package. This package is based on the icedtea6 branch
which is THE BRANCH THAT HAS PASSED THE TCK.
2. java-1.7.0-icedtea package is removed because it was based on the branch
that will become java7 in the not so near future and as a result the api for
java7 is not stable now.

Everyone is supposed to use the java-1.6.0-openjdk package as this is the jvm
which is used for building every java package in the repositories.

Please ask if there are still questions about the icedtea/openjdk packaging
and the default jvm for Mandriva.

P.S. I don't want this mail to start a new thread about the multiple JVMs in
Mandriva.

Best regards,
Alexander Kurtakov
