I installed the DVD i586 version on my external USB drive without any problem.
Default install, except I put grub on the mbr of the external drive.

After reboot i have no problem with harware recognition/setup :-)
-Video configured OK (Intel 945GM/GMS) screen 1280x800.
-Audio OK (Intel 82801G ICH7 Family).

In the "not working previously, but OK now" section.
-iwl3945; that's the first time I can connect with dhcp and switch between my
my two wireless networks (just a 10mn test though, have to confirm this).
-The installer still detects and setup the swap space of my internal drive :-(
but now default is the swap partition of the external drive (semi-happy).
-Updating with cooker sources install a new kernel, I usually
(2008/2008.1/cooker) have to change menu.lst to set hd(0,0) instead of a
wrong hd(1,0), but now this seems to be corrected.


In the "not yet corrected" section.
-I still have a new pan device created at each network (re)start.

Other.
-With straight Alpha2 autologin doesn't work (authentication failed),
corrected by updating with cooker mirrors.
-I have vlc crashing while trying to look at freebox tv, will install the MDV
official version and see what happens, ho and it made firefox crashing also
when the vlc plugin is installed.
