Also adding to the record, I work as a java EE developer and I can say
that many many products and libraries still require java 1.5, not to
say that as a developer I need to use multple jdk's, 1,5 (most of the
time), 1,6 and even still 1.4. So I think java 1.5 should remain on
the distro for quite some time and it would be better if it could be
installed alongside java 1.6 whathever version is used (sun or
openjdk) so a developer can switch which jdk to use when working.
Currently I have jdk 1.5 installed from repositories but have 1.4.x
and 1.6 from sun. It would be nice to hace 1.5 AND 1.6 at the same
time but both from mandriva repositories.
Cheers,
