I get the same errors even after removing the fglrx module.
Do not remember the version for the last radeonhdd that worked for me
but I can tell you when.

That was the the day you uploaded xf86-video-ati 6.8.0 and I tested
both it and the then current radeonhdd driver with the ati driver
getting my vote for the "new" default.
