Do you have logging setup on your LDAP servers? If so, then check and
make sure that you have a "-" before the log file location in your /
etc/syslog.conf. Example:

local4.*      -/var/log/ldap.log

The "-" prevents syncing of the log file to disk every time that a
write is made.
