The splashutils-1.5.4-r1 ebuild has been updated to cope with recent API breakage in the new baselayout-2.0/openrc.

The pb is baselayout 2.0 is still masked and not keyworded.

So you can choose between using splashutils < 1.5.4-r1 or merging baselayout-2.0.

I personally migrated from baselayout 2.0 beta to the final 2.0.0 and
everything is fine on my side.
