Hi Guys,
Well... this is my first email on this forum, before that I was like a silent listener... :)
I am working or you can say that I am studying the Veritas Netbackup 6.0 compatibility with Redhat Enterprise Linux. The matrix at their site shows that it is completely compatible with Redhat Servers.
Question : My company is planning to buy a Vertitas Netbackup 6.0 which have Bare Metal Restore 4.7 for unix, linux and Solaris servers. I have come to know that in Vertitas Netbackup 5.1, Backup-Administrator have to follow very complicated steps for its restoration. Steps include that backup/image first copied to some other machine, after then it can be restored to some other machine and this and that.
Could any body knows that is this problem resolved in Vertitas Netbackup 6.0 (with Bare Metal Restore 4.7) or it is still in jeopardy.
Waiting for your reply.
Regards,
- Farhan.
