RHEL3 upgrade to RHEL4

RHEL3 upgrade to RHEL4

To all,
I am currently in the mist of performing an upgrade from RHEL3 Update 6
(3.6) to RHEL4 Update 3. We are running Oracle 9i RAC, Apps/CM, Essbase on
HP DL360, DL385, and DL585 servers with the QLA2300 HBA?s (EVA3K and 5K
SAN?s) . We have a few LVM volumes in place but from what I understand
LVM2 will still work with them.
My Question is: Has any one else performed the upgrade? RedHat is telling
me that it is recommended to perform a fresh reinstall of RedHat instead
of an upgrade. This is not an option for our configuration so I am trying
to find out what all gotcha are out there.
Please reply if any one out there has any insight to what I am about to
embark.

Thanks in advanced,
David Knight
