Basicly I'm asking if the user has UNIX-side permissions to the

If it's no longer being manufactured, it doesn't count much, because it will
eventually be phased out, and then it will no longer be a good
counter-example. As you know, many Usenet flame wars can last for years, if
not decades, and you certainly don't want to use a counter-example that won't
