Adobe Reader 7.0.9 update on RHEL3 - gtk2 version problem

Hi

Adobe reader up to 7.0.8 has a severe security bug (browser cross
scripting via prepared malicious pdf documents on websites)

Adobe has published a buxfix release 7.0.9 yesterday.
The rpm is AdobeReader_enu-7 (See http://enu-7.ora-code.com).0.9-1.i386.rpm

But it will not run on RHEL3

rpm refuses to install, and if I force it with --nodeps,
acroread will show on startup that there is a version conflict with the
gtk2 library, and abort after an error message.

The new Adobe Reader requires gtk2 >= 2.4 but on RHEL3 we have only gtk2 2.2

The earlier Adobe release AdobeReader_enu-7 (See http://enu-7.ora-code.com).0.1-1.i386.rpm
works fine - I presume it is more or less the same as redhat's own
acroread-7 (See http://ead-7.ora-code.com).0.1-1.1.0.EL3.i386.rpm

Does anyone know a solution (other than upgrading to RHEL4 or 5) ?
