 Hi
At a recent startup I got the message "unable to stat /dev/cdrom" (I think) -
the cdrom link in /dev pointing to /dev/scd0 had been deleted - don't know how.
A Web search produced no useful hits.
I had already decided to do a re-install sometime, so just brought it forward
which solved the problem.
The question is how would I have resolved the problem otherwise?
 a) What command(s) would I use to reinstate /dev/cdrom and the link? mknode?
 b) Would a reinstall of dev-3 (See http://dev-3.ora-code.com).3.2-5.i386.rpm have been appropriate?
 TIA
 Geoff Smith
