> How does failover/failback occur? > You've got a few options: 1. If the array is active/active you can try using md-multipath (managed by mdadm). This is AFAIK the only multipath option Redhat supports on RHEL3. 2. You could enable failover in the qlogic driver and see if it works for your setup. This is AFAIK not directly supported by Redhat but vendors like HP supports this for their EVA arrays. 3. Vendor supported multipath solution using a commercial multipathing product.
If it's possible I'd recommend upgrading to RHEL4 or 5. It's got much better support for multipathing using devicemapper (dm-multipath).
